October 1 Quit Notice: Igbo’s Should Leave The North And Return Home, Says Concerned Lawyers.

– A group of three lawyers have advised Igbo’s in the North to return home in lieu of the October 1st notice issued by Arewa youths.

– The lawyers further advised the Ndigbo to vacate the Northern area whether the threat would be carried out or not.

It is just days away from the October 1st quit notice which was served by the Arewa youths to the Igbo people living in the Northern Nigeria. According to Vanguard reports, a team of three concerned lawyers in Anambra state, have advised the Igbo’s resident in Northern Nigeria to move back home to the Southeast.

The lawyers – Samuel Chukwukelu, Ben Okoko and Maurice Efobi, made these comments while speaking to newsmen in Onitsha on Thursday, September 28.

The lawyers have advised the Igbo’s resident in the North to vacate the North regardless of whether the threat is carried out or not. The lawyers further opined that instead of being at risk in a foreign land, the Igbo’s should return to the southeast which has even more comfortable homes for them. Furthermore, the lawyers also advised them not to be trapped like the Igbo’s were in 1966.

Recall however, that the Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG) has agreed to withdraw the quit notice served to the Igbo’s in the North, which mandated them to leave the 19 states of Northern Nigeria before October 1st. The CNG’s decision to withdraw the quit notice followed a series of meetings with various stakeholders
